Gemesis has recently completed the development of LabVIEW software designed to control an automated fluorescence measurement system. This project was initiated at the request of a client whose equipment had become obsolete and required a significant software update.
Software Retrofit for a Fluorescence System
Faced with an outdated setup, our client turned to Gemesis for a software retrofit. Our approach began with a technological risk mitigation phase, during which the system was brought into our workshop to conduct Proofs of Concept (POC).
Conducting Proofs of Concept
The POC phase was crucial for validating our ability to meet the specific project requirements. We demonstrated our capability to:
- Control an XY axis via software
- Manage the operation of ultraviolet LEDs
- Operate a camera for image capture
The success of these three POCs paved the way for precisely defining the project specifications and subsequent software development.
Development and Automation
Following POC validation, we defined the specifications in close collaboration with our client. This step was followed by software development aimed at automating the movements and image captures required for performing a very specific procedure in fluorescence measurements.
Commissioning and Continuous Use
The system, equipped with its new software, is now fully operational and in continuous use by our client. This modernization has revitalized a crucial piece of equipment for the client’s research and development activities, providing enhanced and automated fluorescence measurement and analysis capabilities.
This project highlights Gemesis’s expertise in developing custom LabVIEW software solutions capable of addressing complex and specific technical requirements.
