Understanding Heat Transfer, Not Just Measuring Temperature
GEMESIS, together with NexTherm Sensing offers a dedicated solution for measuring and characterizing heat flux.
Technology Developed from ONERA Research
NexTherm Sensing is a French company based on technologies developed within the ONERA ecosystem. Its sensors have been used for propulsion, Ariane 6 launch pad instrumentation, combustion testing, hydrogen risk assessment and the characterization of fast thermal phenomena.
Temperature and heat flux provide two different types of information. Temperature describes the thermal state reached by a material, while heat flux directly measures the energy received, transferred or dissipated by a surface. Heat flux measurement is particularly relevant for highly transient phenomena or when an accurate energy balance is required.
A Value-Added Distributor and Systems Integrator
GEMESIS does more than supply the sensor.
We support customers in defining their complete measurement chain:
Sensor → Mechanical integration → Data acquisition → Synchronization → Processing → Automation → Results analysis
Our experience in test bench design allows us to integrate heat flux measurements with other system parameters:
temperature, pressure, flow rate, current, voltage, electrical power, gas concentration, imaging, and data from ECUs or PLCs.
Data can be acquired and processed using our GEMS platform or integrated into the customer's existing measurement environment.
Our 7 Application Areas
